Suffolk Bump to Baby Photography: Golden Hour Maternity & In-Home Newborn Session
There is something so special about following a couple’s journey from bump to baby — witnessing the anticipation, the love, the quiet in-between moments, and then seeing those same emotions deepen once their little one finally arrives. Ashlee and Brandon’s story is one I’ve loved documenting from the very beginning.
These two first met in high school, fell in love, and have been inseparable ever since. They moved from South Africa to the UK around eight years ago and have built such a warm, beautiful life together here in Suffolk. Watching them step into parenthood felt like such a natural continuation of their story.
A Golden Hour Maternity Session at Levington Lagoon
We photographed their maternity session back in July at Levington Lagoon — one of my favourite spots in Suffolk for soft, golden fields and wide-open skies. We started shooting as the sun began to dip, wrapping everything in that dreamy golden hour glow, and stayed through to blue hour, finishing up around 9pm. The light was just perfect.
Ashlee looked incredible with her bump, glowing against the warm tones of the long grass. Their outfits were simple, classic and timeless — perfect for the relaxed, romantic feel they wanted. Brandon was so attentive, always reaching for Ashlee’s hand, and the chemistry between them made the entire session feel effortless.
As the sun set behind the fields, they laughed, cuddled, walked hand-in-hand and soaked in those last few weeks before their baby arrived. Every moment felt calm, genuine, and full of anticipation.
Welcoming Baby Isabella — An In-Home Newborn Session
Fast-forward to September, and I had the honour of meeting their beautiful baby girl for her newborn session — and oh my goodness, she is perfect. Soft peachy skin, tiny curled-up hands, and the most peaceful little expressions… especially in that gorgeous oversized bow.
Their home is full of character and charm, with beautiful light and textures that made the perfect backdrop. I always love photographing newborns in the place they’ll grow up — it makes the images feel so intimate and true to their story.
The session flowed naturally, with snuggles on the bed, quiet moments on the sofa, and those signature peep-through-the-door frames that feel like little glimpses into real family life. One of my favourite moments was Brandon holding their baby girl in the kitchen, standing by the window with soft morning light on them — such a simple scene, but so full of tenderness.
We captured Ashlee’s gentle cuddles, Brandon’s protective hands, tiny details, sleepy stretches, and the two of them soaking in those brand-new newborn days together. The images feel warm, cosy, emotional — exactly what an in-home newborn session should be.
A Story Told in Two Chapters
From glowing sunset fields to quiet moments at home, Ashlee and Brandon’s bump-to-baby journey was such a joy to document. Their love is effortless, their connection is strong, and their baby girl is already so adored.
Being able to photograph both sides of their journey — the anticipation and the arrival — is exactly why I love offering bump-to-baby packages. These chapters pass by so quickly, and having them captured in a consistent, natural style means you’ll always have the full story preserved beautifully.
